This has nothing to do with anything, but did you know (of course you didn't) that I've been reading your stuff for I don't know, perhaps 45 minutes and can't find you name anywhere? Is that on purpose? I was talking to Bruce Roche this afternoon and he wanted to know how to spell your last name so he could look you up in his grade book. (One of the biggest mistakes I made upon retirement was tossing my grade book.) Wasn't he your adviser or something at UA? I thought I remembered, but now I'm not so sure. I couldn't even find it in my address book, so I, too, am remiss, or absented minded or whatever. Zienseis? Help! roy

Beth - on marathon training... I remember one of the great British middle distance runners of the 1980s (Seb Coe) say that when he was in heavy training he was of course super fit... but going shopping would exhaust him, such were the limits his body was being pushed to / through.

I've always thought marathon runner were a special breed of crazy (that's a compliment coming from a sprint hurdler..) but don't flame out. OK? All in good time.

Wowza! Work, family, boyfriend, running, moving ... Just one of those is enough to keep anyone occupied full time.

I'm sure that once things settle down a bit, you'll have no trouble reaching your goal of writing for yourself.

In the meantime, take a break and grab a cupcake!

I know things get busy, but you've always got to find time for you (coming from the working mother!).

Glad you got to write (sorry I interrupted you!).

Oh no, too many exclamation marks....

[...] unknown posted a noteworthy aricle today onHere’s a small snippetI consider that a success. But now that I think back to the decision I made to start writing in the first place, I realize I wanted to freelance for other people because I wasn’t as confident as I needed to be about my own writing. … [...]

Time constraints and conflicting priorities affect many of us. When to give to others, when to take care of our own passions. And it's never an easy choice, especially for those in high demand - amazing person plus amazing talent - yet there is wisdom to be gained by such demands. And while we often don't appreciate it in the moment, it will ultimately reveal itself in the rear view mirror.
