What’s on your desk?
For your giggling pleasure, here’s a gallery of items from my home office.
Books: Two self-help books and a collection of cool words.
Potholders: This one is a goofy silicon potholder that’s here because I always bring lunch to my desk, usually eating from the pan. I also have a traditional-looking potholder with little pears on it.
Stuffed Duck: From the Aflak Iron Girl race.
Calendar: My favorite that I buy every year — the Word-A-Day calendar.
Pens: Silly pens I collected at a recent conference. I also have pens that light up, pens with highlighters, pens that cost the vendors a lot of money to produce that are completely wasted on me because I never buy anything…
More Running Stuff: This is a framed ode to my best half marathon time. I also hang all my medals from a desk drawer pull and have a framed pic of my finisher’s certificate from the San Diego Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon.
The Cat: Mickey Mouse sometimes sits in the corner, on my lap or on the desk. Or she ignores me completely.

Sorry about the horrible picture quality.
I took the pics this morning with my cell phone.
Then my mom called and I stopped taking pics.
Then I spent 20 minutes trying to use Bluetooth to upload the pics.
Then I gave up and had to send them one by one.
Then I kept losing them in the download folder.
Then I had to upload all the pics to Wordpress one by one. Wordpress does not excel in adding pics, so this was especially annoying.
Then I decided that I wanted to change the pic size to thumbnails because the quality sucked.
Then I noticed that I used both “pot holder” and “potholder,” and I went back twice to make sure I was consistent.
Thus, my attempt to post a really quick entry that was semi-funny because I’m pretty blue and can’t think of anything really funny to write about ended up taking about an hour and a half, and I’m pretty disappointed with the outcome. I suppose it’s silly to add a perky, “Enjoy the pics!” at this point? How about a flat-voiced, “Happy Monday.”

Aw, Beth: I think you’re funny in general. We all have bum days when we’re feeling blue or when our half-hearted attempts at humour fall flat. (Actually, I found your comment quite funny!) That’s when I go in search of someone else’s humour rather than try to create my own. Everyone knows how Mondays are. We understand.
I hope you feel better soon.
I’m sorry I didn’t get here sooner.

PS. Your desk is a lot more interesting than mine! I just have my printer, a thing of pens and pencils, a mouse, and some papers and a notebook on mine. I find it a bit small so i try to keep it clutter free.

I just realized that every personal item on my desk falls into the red/pink category. My desk is cluttered with: Pink Nalgene bottle that I use to keep track of my fluid intake (aim for 90 ounces a day), red coffee travel mug (cancels out my Nalgene bottle usage), red paperclip holder guy who “holds” all my paperclips on the magnet on his head like a mowhawk, business card holder from Hawaii with pink clay plumeria flowers, red flashlight in case of a power outage (my building has NO windows, yuck!), and of course two framed photos of my cat (the only things that is not red or pink!
