Holy crap!
About five minutes ago I felt my desk wobble. At first I thought it was the cat, but the floor moved, too.
Earthquake. No, really.
A strong earthquake just hit near Los Angeles, and I felt it here in San Diego.
Wow. This is a first.
All is fine here.

From an article about the quake:
“California is one of the world’s most seismically active regions. More than 300 faults crisscross the state, which sits atop two of Earth’s major tectonic plates, the Pacific and North American plates. About 10,000 quakes each year rattle Southern California alone, although most of them are too small to be felt.”

Glad you are okay. Is this the first time you’ve been in an earthquake? I think I’ve been in four or more now. The first big one I lived through was that major one down there around 1969. I thought of you when I heard this on the news just now as I was eating my lunch.

Yep, my very first real thing, although I did feel something when I was in Colorado once. They said it was a quake, but I think it was indigestion.
It was funny… my sister called when the news of the quake hit. I was online looking to see if there had been one. When she called, I said, “Oh — I have to run! I gotta blog!”
Yet more proof that I need to get out more.

Well, I’m glad you’re okay. They can be kinda scary, but they are usually over fast. The aftermath (damage, injuries) and such are the worst part. We had a big quake up here around 2000/2001 – the “Nisqually Quake” they call it – and I was in the ladies room at Microsoft when it hit. Great.

Whoa!! Freaky! I don’t know if I’ve ever felt one before. I guess I’d know. But whoa!! I’ll have to check the news later. Hopefully everyone is all right. Glad you are!
