I love that video. Talk about being real and having a human experience. Fabulous! As for the senior editor - some people just don't realize that it's not all about them. It's nothing personal to the editor - your client has a business to run and he needs the best copy possible. He chose you. Whether or not the SEO remains intact is - to me - secondary. What good is it if a search engine finds you when the copy you then display is utter crap? People will click way in a nanosecond anyway. The copy has to keep them there. You can do that! You go girl.
