No cupcake for you, lady!
I’m a logical woman.
I know in my heart that there is absolutely no way that I can justify buying a cupcake right now.
Just because it’s 8:08 p.m. and I’ve got at least 2 hours of work left editing a website that I got this afternoon and seems to go on forever, that’s no reason whatsoever that I should be able to indulge. Especially since I’m not going to go running tonight because I have to get this done. And even more, I can’t have a cupcake because I’m probably going to skip tomorrow’s 6 a.m. track training tomorrow as well.
Nope. I cannot justify a cupcake. I do not deserve one.
Ah, who the hell cares? The country tonight is fascinated with Eliot Spitzer’s sex life and American Idol’s latest results. Not one person on this Earth is going to care if I eat a damn cupcake.
I’m buying the damn cupcake. I’m eating the damn cupcake. And I will love every bite.

Hello,
I found your website a few days ago and have been hooked ever since. I must say that I was cheering you on through your post to eat the cupcake.
Glad you did and hope it was good. Now, I feel like one and it’s 12:30AM for me!

I agree - sorry I couldn’t be there and enjoy one with you. (Don’t feel too bad for me - I had 2 chocolate chip cookies for breakfast!)

[...] Although I’m cutting back on the regular posts, I reserve the right to post little random things as they pop up, like the news about the recent Southern California earthquake that shook my desk and rattled my nerves, or assaults against the English language such as the call from an academic criminologist to abandon those pesky spelling rules. And, of course, I’ll keep you abreast of cupcake emergencies. [...]
