Another “d’oh” moment in the life of a freelance writer….

I’ve been doing a series of case studies for a client, calling and interviewing their clients to tell their stories. Right now I have the raw notes from perhaps six people.

Duh! Don’t leave raw notes, Ziesenis! Write things right then! Instead of taking another half an hour after every call to actually write the case study, I’ve just been saving them for later. Now I have to go back and spend quite some time putting each one together. This project is billed as a whole instead of hourly, so I’m paying for the time I spend, not the client.

Shame on me for not realizing this earlier. Don’t do what I do…. do what I realize I should have done.
