With 15 minutes to spare
Last night D.J. and I had a banquet, and I had to be ready by 5:30. I quit work at 4:30, and since imagine myself such a low-maintenance chick, I figured I’d be ready in 45 minutes with 15 minutes to spare.
As a freelance copywriter, I can get a nice little project done in 15 minutes.
- Revise a bio for a client’s upcoming presentation
- Record an audio promo for my upcoming webinar
- Follow up on 5 or so prospects I haven’t heard from in a few weeks
- Check in with clients who are reviewing a draft
- Make a to do list
- Run almost a mile and a half (still training for the upcoming half marathon Jan. 20)
- Send an article or two to clients with a little note: “I thought you might find this interesting.”
- Proofread a client’s brochure
- Order office supplies from Staples.com
- Grab a cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop
- Launch a new promotion for my new webinar
By the way, although I anticipated that I’d have 15 minutes to spare, I was completely kidding myself. D.J. actually gave me an extra 20 minutes beyond that, and I STILL wasn’t quite ready. Oh well.

AHHHH….so true!
I love when I set my alarm 15 minutes earlier in the morning thinking, “I’m gonna curl my hair before work today!”, and then of course, because I wake up early, I get a false sense of security, and watch more news, and eat my cheerios slower, and before I know it, I’m running a dollop of mousse through my uncombed horse-hair and dashing out the door…every friggin’ time…lol
