I am completely thrilled. I just received my first drive-by comment from someone who wasn’t pressured by me to leave one. (My emails: “Please comment, Mom. My blog looks so empty!”) I’ve been getting cramps in my finger from pushing F5 to refresh my blog stats each day. I keep searching for articles on how to drive traffic to your blog, and I’m really hoping I’ll find a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who are having the same startup challenges I am.

Here’s a few of the resources I’ve consulted:

  1. 16 Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog
  2. I signed up for Blog Soldiers, but it kind of scares me
  3. How to Market Your Blog in 2007
  4. My favorite from Seth Godin: 56 Ways to Get Traffic to Your Blog

The consensus seems to be that in order to get people to read your blog, you need to read other people’s blogs and comment. Plus you need to regularly write in your own blog. Last night I was blog surfing on Blog Soldiers, and I saw some of the most horrible blogs ever — I picture a guy in his underwear writing random thoughts all night, or a political hardliner searching the web for things to yell about, or a preteen
girl blogging about her life from a pink room in suburban anywhere. These blogs are not particularly interesting to me. In the coming weeks, I hope to really find a community of bloggers to whom I relate.

Thanks to Sarah L. for stopping by!
