Around 3 p.m. today I came to the
realization that although I’m a professional writer, I don’t think it’s possible
for me to write straight through an 8-hour day. I did quite a bit of
writing on one project last night, more proofing/writing on the same project
today, plus I kicked out two 500-word SEO articles. That was about all I could
handle. I filed this post under Procrastination, but really, it’s more about
knowing when one needs a break and making the most of beautiful Southern
California.

I took a stroll at Balboa Park where I
snapped these pictures. The sleeping man looked completely at ease, like he had
no idea that he was actually asleep in a park. I laughed when I saw the open
magazine tucked under his head: Dream Homes of San Diego.

The couple chatted seriously just off the
main path. I watched her long hair as a few strands escaped her in the soft
breeze. I convinced myself that the glistening gold of her hair was a color one
would only find in the Southern California sun or in hair color commercials.
