What’s in a copywriter’s office?
When I set up my home office, I put a lot
of thought into my desk setup. I envisioned something that would make me feel
comfortable, that would inspire to spend long hours writing with glee, that
would
be a welcoming haven for my new
workaday life. Here’s what I came up with.
- A
slightly battered Ikea desk, discovered at Goodwill for $39 - A
splurge on a wireless keyboard and mouse set from Best Buy, $149 - Adorable
organizer sets from Staples clearance racks and the Container Store, $75 - An
Ikea shelving unit, on sale in the As Is section, $50 - A
fantastic, comfy, I-can’t-believe-you-found-that office chair from an
estate sale, $50 - A
stockpile of recycled paper products for letterhead, copies, envelopes,
$65 - The
ubiquitous double Americano from my favorite coffee shop (Influx), $2.25 - Compressed
air – can’t live without it, $4.99 or something like that - Assorted aromatherapy candles, Word-A-Day calendars
stuck on days gone by, family pictures, non-functional pens, $25
